Cirque du Soleil is the brainchild of French
street performers Guy Laliberté and Daniel Gauthier.
They founded the company in 1984 in Paris, France. They later
moved to Montreal, Quebec, Canada, and expanded to include
a group of Canadian street performers - jugglers, stilt-walkers,
contortionists, fire-breathers and unicyclists.
They have since taken their act from the
streets to the rest of the world. In its 25 years of existence,
